Harold Cohen Library Toilets

This was a discovery made due to a broken toilet!. Whilst as toilets go they're quite poor they do have one redeeming feature. Most bog graffiti runs along the lines of witty or just downright awful one-liners, or mobile numbers from dubious persons. The bog graffiti I discovered in the Cohen that day was unexpected, and spectacular. On the reverse side of the doors are three figures; Satan, A bloke in a tracksuit and an Angel. Although they've been adorned and subsequently written over they have a surprising quality about them. The devil - perhaps the scariest of the trio is drawn in red felt tip, with his penis swinging free. The character in the centre cubicle is wearing a "Krappa" tracksuit and has an angel hovering over his shoulder bearing the sign godliness and kindness, herself mirrored by a particularly wicked looking she devil. She holds a sign adorned with some script about sin (I'd recommend you read it).

Angel
Wandering Soul

The final panel perhaps is the most striking. An angel, with his wings on fire and tears rolling down his cheeks stares straight ahead. On the top right of the door is written the following

"What is this to become holy? Do not read of the works of other men- for once on that path one only becomes less divine and more devout".

Perhaps the toilet doors will be painted over one day, this particularly makes the trinity all the more valuable; but for the time being you can visit them in the Harold Cohen during library opening hours. Note - you need a Liverpool University ID card to gain entry. Visits can be arranged go to www.liv.ac.uk for more info.

July 2005 Update: I assume these are now gone, but would love to hear if they're still around.
