September the 11th Memorial

I was first alerted to this art by a discussion on a CND newsgroup. The memorial features the Y-front symbol used along with a dove to suggest that we give peace a chance.

Several panels feature scenes from the 9/11 disaster, and the stars and stripes is featured on all the pictures.

I find the message from this painting to be concentrating solely on one event in time, namely the disaster that occured to the twin towers in New York.

No mention is made at all of the lives lost to American bombs in Afghanistan in retaliation to the bombing of the twin towers. I believe that it is this reason that not everyone is happy with the memorial. Interestingly the memorial has not been vandalised or sprayed over, when many of the other bits of wall in the area have been extensively 'tagged'.
